Obama Wants Moms Like You To Go Back To School
President Obama is wanting moms all around America to go back to school so that they can have a chance for a better future. One of the main reasons why most moms are not currently in school is because they do not have the necessary funds. They are too busy working at low-paying jobs (just over broke) to provide the essential items for their children and household. In many cases, most mothers have to receive assistance just to get by in the form of WIC and foodstamps.
President Obama understands how difficult this can be and is now providing for moms an easier way to come up with the money for school. He has made the decision to raise the value of the Pell Grant even higher than it was before. Money is tight, especially for working mothers. In this day and time, if you do not have a degree or are not experienced in something that pays at least 30K per year, you are going to have a difficult time getting by.
The good thing is that most moms meet the qualifications for the Pell Grant, which have to do with having a very low income. Since the economy has went downhill, going back to school seems to be the only thing left to do for several moms all around the country. It is all coming down to having well-paying career, not just having a job. Most job opportunities available now require skill which can only be obtained through a college or university.
Another benefit of receiving the Pell Grant is that you do not have to pay the money back, so there are basically no strings attached. It is an open opportunnity for all who qualify. The Pell Grant helps pay for the majority of the low-income mother's education. Other grants and scholarships available are The Teach Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) and The National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant, also know as TheNational SMART Grant.
There are a variety of options available for moms all around the United States. For those who are currently drawing unemployment, there has never been a better time to go back to school. President Obama understands that juggling all of these responsibilities can be next to impossible. Up until now, there has not been much of a possiblity for the moms of America to make a real difference in their situation. As more mother's begin to return to school and obtain degrees in areas of work that are actually in demand, the unemployment rates will most likely begin to go down.
Making the decision to go back to school if you are a mom will not only better your future, but will also improve the future for billions of other Americans and children feeling the effects of the crumbling economy. One thing is for sure, and that is that there is work out there, it just requires skill. With the right attitude, knowledge, and resources, anyone in America can now finally have the perfect opportunity to improve their circumstances.
